Today we will be previewing two games, both on the MLB slate.
MLB:
Cubs @ Pirates
The Chicago Cubs (2-1) will travel to PNC Park today to take on the Pittsburgh Pirates (1-2). Chicago is coming off an opening series win over rival Milwaukee in which they won 2 of 3 games at home. They defeated the Brewers in the first two games of the season before dropping the last game 5-4 on Sunday. Recent international signing Seiya Suzuki has started his MLB career off with a bang, totaling 6 RBI in 3 games. Pittsburgh most recently won the last game of the series over St. Louis, 9-4 on the road, after dropping the first two games of the series. The Cubs will be starting Drew Smyly while the Pirates will counter with a familiar face for Cubs fans, Jose Quintana. First pitch is scheduled for 3:12 PM CST.
Mariners @ White Sox
In the home opener, the Chicago White Sox (2-1) will look to keep staking early wins when they take on the Seattle Mariners (2-2). The Sox dropped the opening day game to Detroit but have since responded with back-to-back wins on the road over the Tigers, to win the series. In Tim Andersons first game back from suspension, he showed how valuable he was to this White Sox lineup, going 3-5 with two doubles and 2 runs scored on Sunday. The Mariners split a 4-game series with the Twins to open the year, winning the first two games before dropping their last two in Minnesota. Chicago will start Vince Velasquez on the mound while the Mariners will start rookie Matt Brash. First pitch is scheduled for 3:10 PM CST.
