Betting Previews: 3/2/2022
Today we will be previewing three games, two on the college basketball slate and one NBA game.
CBB:
Xavier @ St. Johns
The Xavier Musketeers will be looking to save their season tonight when they travel to New Jersey to take on the St. Johns Red Storm. Xavier has dropped their last four games, including a 82-66 loss to Seton Hall on Saturday. The Red Storm come into this game with the fastest offense in NCAA in terms of pace of play. Last time these two teams played, St. Johns was too fast for Xavier, beating them in Cincinnati, 86-73.
Notre Dame @ Florida State
Heading into the final week of the regular season, Notre Dame has already secured a top-4 seed in next weeks ACC tournament. The 21-8 Fighting Irish can secure the 2-seed in the conference tournament with a win in Tallahassee tonight. Notre Dame is 17-3 since a December 18th loss to Indiana, and most recently walloped Georgia Tech 90-56. The Seminoles on the other hand, come into this game with a 15-13 record. In their last game, they won a nail-biter at Virginia, 64-63. The victory came on a Matthew Cleveland buzzer beater 3-pointer. Notre Dame is seeking its first NCAA tournament appearance since 2017. This will be the first time these two teams have met this season.
NBA:
Pacers @ Magic
Indiana is 10-1 against Orlando since the 2014 season. In the Pacers last victory against the Celtics, they had 4 players all with 20+ points, the first time the Pacers have done that since 2001 with Reggie Miller. Buddy Hield has been playing good basketball since being traded from the Kings, averaging 21.8 points per game with the Pacers. Also coming to Indiana in that trade was Tyrese Haliburton, who is averaging a double-double in six games with Indiana (19.8 ppg & 10.7 apg). Both these teams just played eachother in Indiana on Monday, with the Magic earning a 119-103 road victory. Wendell Carter Jr scored 21 points and added 12 rebounds in the win. Markelle Fultz scored 12 points with 6 assists in his season debut with the Magic.
